MUFON Plans Real-Time UAP Alert Network Built on Legacy MADAR Sensors
Steve Foss, MUFON's Florida State Section Director, writes that the planned system is to combine sensor data with witness reports, following the NICAP MADAR model conceived by the late Fran Ridge.

MUFON is preparing to work with another organisation to introduce what Steve Foss describes as potentially the most comprehensive real-time UAP alert network yet developed. The project carries the name TsIG, the TechnoSignature Intercept Grid, and a destination in the MUFON Store, according to the organisation's headline. Foss, MUFON's Florida State Section Director, is the author of the notice.
The effort builds on the earlier NICAP MADAR network, conceived by the late Fran Ridge, a longtime NICAP curator and, in Foss's description, an important contributor to instrument-based UAP research. MADAR used small sensor nodes — roughly the size of a cigarette pack — that connected through a home network. The units monitored sudden compass changes and shifts in barometric pressure.
When unusual readings were detected, Foss writes, investigators could compare the data with nearby MUFON sighting reports. Those comparisons, he adds, helped demonstrate the value of pairing physical sensor data with witness reports and case investigation.
The next milestone indicated is the system's arrival in the MUFON Store, described as coming soon.
