US Navy Releases 1,300 Pages of UAP Emails Amid Patchy Disclosure

Federal records on unidentified phenomena have arrived years late, with major claims unverified and released imagery too ambiguous to resolve the questions it raises.

US Navy Releases 1,300 Pages of UAP Emails Amid Patchy Disclosure

The US Department of the Navy has released more than 1,300 pages of emails and related documents involving Scott W. Bray, the former deputy director of Naval Intelligence, OVNI Hoje reported. The records were obtained by The Black Vault through a freedom-of-information request filed on 24 May 2022, seeking emails sent to, from, copied to or blind-copied to Bray that contained terms including “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena”, “UAP”, “UAPTF”, “UFO”, “AATIP” and “AAWSAP”. The Navy's response, dated 23 September in that account, came more than four years after the request.

The release sits within a wider sequence of US disclosures on unidentified phenomena. Il Fatto Quotidiano reported that the US Department of Defense published 71 new dossiers on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena which, as described by the newspaper, are said to include details of a secret programme worth $10 million and the medical record of three engineers who fell ill after an anomalous aerospace event, one of whom reportedly showed signs of malignant transformation as if exposed to radiation. The contents of those government documents have not been independently confirmed. The same outlet reported that AARO data confirm more than 96 per cent of sightings have a terrestrial explanation. Mystery Planet reported separately that declassified US documents obtained by investigator John Greenewald of The Black Vault revealed high-level meetings between the US Department of Defense and the Uruguayan Air Force, with the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office promoting a bilateral cooperation agenda centred on unidentified anomalous phenomena.

Claims of recovered material continue to circulate outside official channels. Dylan Borland, described by OVNI Hoje as a former US Air Force intelligence specialist, said on the podcast “Hang Out with Sean Hannity”, in a discussion that also involved the UFO investigator Ben Hansen, that the US government holds recovered non-human craft. Asked directly by Sean Hannity whether the government possesses recovered craft, and pressed on whether he was certain, he answered affirmatively, according to that account. On the scientific side, the astrophysicist Avi Loeb has pressed the US government for access to classified material on unidentified phenomena; Politico, as relayed by OVNI Hoje, reported that at a late-August meeting at the headquarters of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in Virginia he sought to accelerate access to data he says may be held by intelligence agencies and the armed forces. Loeb was chosen under Donald Trump's administration to lead a new scientific council on UFOs created within the ODNI.

The material released so far has not resolved the questions it raises, on the accounts available. Liberation Times reported on 26 September 2026 that much of the imagery released under the disclosure effort remains too ambiguous to settle the questions it raises, and that many other documents have been seen before. Two videos allegedly showing a 100-foot triangular craft over a Colorado military base were said to be held by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, with sources giving the New York Post file numbers IRR1669S015524 and IRR1669S005024. The Pentagon says it cannot find the footage, the outlet reported, while Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Joel Valdez wrote on X in a post the outlet quotes only in part. The accounts available do not set out further release dates, leaving the central questions on recovered material unresolved.
